Dr. Sachau has a Ph.D. in Social Psychology from the University of Utah. Before coming to MSU, Dan worked with Frederick Herzberg and Associates. Dan is now Director of the OERG and a professor in MSU's Industrial/Organizational Psychology Graduate Program. Dan is the former Director of the I/O Program and Past President of Minnesota Professionals for Psychology in the Workplace.

His consulting interests include employee engagement, customer satisfaction, and organization development.
